Oak Island Lighthouse Run/Walk 5K, 10K & Half MarathonOak Island, North Carolina Dates: Apr. 20, 2013 8:00 am – Apr. 20, 2013 12:00 pmThe beautiful North Carolina beach communities of Caswell Beach & Oak Island are on display as runners follow routes which take you past breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, all leading back to the historic bunkers of Fort Caswell on the campus of the NC Baptist Assembly past the Oak Island Lighthouse, which has stood guard over the area since 1958. The ½ marathon runners will also get a tour of the live oak and yaupon tree lined streets and cross over the G.V. Barbee Bridge to Oak Island, twice, giving the runner an opportunity to enjoy magnificent views of the marshland and ocean. 5K and 10K cotton shirts limited to first 500 participants.
